Layne Montgomery (@laynemontgomery on Twitter) is a musician and frontman for Layne Montgomery Paper Company (LMPCband on Facebook).
Biography
Layne created both of the theme songs for the podcast. The original theme for "Griffin and David Present" was inspired in equal parts by scores of the Star Wars movies and the theme to the podcast "Serial." When the podcast pivoted to the name "Blank Check with Griffin and David" in 2016, he composed a different theme more appropriate for the new branding which has been used ever since. At the end of 2020 Layne re-recorded the theme with his band.
He is justifiably pleased to be recognized as the auteur behind the Blank Check theme songs.[1]

Due to Layne's musical expertise he was invited to be a featured guest on Blank Check episode #073 Roadies.
As of 2020, Layne is the roommate of Joey Sims, as revealed in episode #300 The Polar Express.
