This week, Griffin and David discuss the Wachowski's game changing 1999 film, ''The Matrix''. Just how big of an influence was this movie on mainstream cinema? Other than the nu metal, has this film aged gracefully? How can this only be the siblings second film?! Together, they discuss the trajectory of Keanu Reeves’ career leading up to the Matrix, their shared love for Gloria Foster’s performance as the Oracle, the superb screenwriting, and the renowned martial arts choreographer Yuen Woo-ping. Plus, box office stats, Y2K and another edition of the Burger Report. <ref>[https://audioboom.com/posts/5107038-the-matrix The Matrix] on Audioboom. Retrieved August 28, 2021.</ref>

Summary[]

This week, Griffin and David discuss the Wachowski's game changing 1999 film, The Matrix. [1]

The movie that gave the Wachowskis a blank check that they just kept using.

Griffin and David and Ben and many of us have seen this movie so many times that it was difficult to look at it with fresh eyes. So they came at it from as many oblique angles as they could.

How many different actors were offered the lead roles in The Matrix - all of them?) How did the Wachowskis go about hiring their fight/stunts coordinator? Does Mouse sell any death sticks to Neo? Why in heaven's name was Director of Photography Bill Pope not even nominated for a Best Cinematography Oscar?
