The podcast is doing their yearly foray into an animated miniseries, focusing on the Musker & Clements films that helped launch the Disney Renaissance. The miniseries follows the rise, fall, rise, and retirement of two influential Disney directors.
This miniseries is far and away the least auteur-driven miniseries. Musker & Clements were mainly company men at Disney, but they directed two of the most influential and game-changing animated films (The Little Mermaid and Aladdin). The success of those films allowed them to make their blank check passion project—Treasure Planet.
